SEO

Organic search compounds. Paid traffic stops the day you stop paying for it; rankings you've earned keep working. The trade-off is that it's slower, and it doesn't work at all if the site underneath it is broken.

So we fix what's broken under the hood first, then go after the organic terms your customers actually search.

Search is also no longer only ten blue links. A growing share of questions are answered by AI assistants and by Google's own AI answers, which read a page differently from a classic search result. That work has its own name — answer engine optimisation — and it has its own section below, because it deserves more than a bullet point.

We're Wollongong-based and work with businesses across Australia, and that shapes the strategy: a local business needs to win its suburb, a national one needs to win the category.

SEOAEORankings

Who it’s for

  • Businesses that are invisible for the terms their customers genuinely use
  • Sites that were rebuilt and lost rankings in the process
  • Anyone paying for clicks on terms they could be earning
  • Businesses with a pile of content that never ranked for anything
  • Anyone who has noticed AI assistants recommending their competitors and not them

What’s included

Technical audit and fixes

Crawlability, indexing, site speed, redirects and broken links. The unglamorous work that decides whether anything else you do can register.

On-page

Titles, headings, internal linking and metadata, so each page targets one thing clearly instead of several things vaguely.

Content, written by us

We write the pages and articles, based on the information you give us about the work — what you do, how you do it and what customers ask. You're not handed a brief and left to fill it in. Each page is built around queries people actually type, with the intent taken seriously: someone comparing options needs a different page from someone ready to buy.

Answer engine optimisation

The work that makes your pages usable by AI assistants and AI search answers, not just by Google's blue links. Set out in full below.

Google Business Profile

Set up and managed — the panel with the map pin, the hours and the reviews that decides whether you appear in local results. Set out in full below.

Structured data

Schema markup so search engines and AI assistants can read what the business does and offers, rather than inferring it.

Reporting

Rankings and organic traffic tracked over time, reported against the terms that matter rather than a vanity total.

Answer engine optimisation (AEO)

People increasingly ask a question and get an answer, not a list of ten links. ChatGPT, Google's AI overviews, Copilot and the rest read the web, decide which sources they find credible, and summarise. If your site isn't legible to them, you're absent from that answer no matter where you rank in the classic results.

AEO is the work of making a site legible to those systems. Nobody can promise an assistant will cite you — anyone who does is selling something. What can be done is to remove every reason for it not to, and that is a concrete, checkable list of work rather than a theory.

  • Pages that answer the real question directly and early, in language that can be quoted without being rewritten first
  • Structured data across the site, so a machine reads what the business is, what it offers and where it operates instead of guessing
  • An llms.txt brief — a plain-text summary of the business written for AI crawlers rather than for people. This site publishes one; you can read it at /llms.txt
  • Consistent facts everywhere: name, contact details, services and locality identical across your site, your listings and your profiles, so an assistant resolves you to one business rather than three half-matches
  • Clean, crawlable markup, with the content that matters not locked behind scripts an AI crawler won't run
  • Checking what the assistants currently say about you, so you know the starting point and can see whether it moves

Google Business Profile and local search

For a business with a service area or a front door, the Google Business Profile is often worth more than the website's own rankings. It's the panel with the map pin, the hours, the photos and the reviews, and it decides whether you appear in the local pack — the handful of results that sit above everything else on a local search.

We set it up and we manage it. It isn't a one-off task: profiles drift, categories change, competitors fill theirs in, and a neglected listing quietly loses ground to a maintained one.

  • Claiming and verifying the listing, or repairing one that was set up badly years ago
  • Categories, services, service areas, opening hours and holiday hours kept accurate
  • Photos, posts and service entries, because a sparse profile both ranks and converts worse than a complete one
  • Reviews — asking for them properly, and responding to what comes back
  • The questions-and-answers panel seeded with what people actually ask, so it isn't answered by strangers
  • The listing's details matched to the website, which is the same consistency the AEO work depends on

What you end up with

  • A site search engines can crawl and understand properly
  • Rankings on terms that produce enquiries, not terms that produce traffic
  • Pages an AI assistant can read, quote and attribute to you
  • A local listing that's working rather than sitting there half-filled
  • Traffic that doesn't stop the moment you stop paying

This page covers organic only. Paid search and paid social are handled separately under Marketing.
